Jordanville– Anthony F. Guzik, Jr., age 82, died on Saturday May 16, 2026 at the Pines Nursing Facility in Utica, NY.

"Tony" was born on February 15, 1944 in Little Falls, NY and is the son of the late Anthony Guzik, Sr. and Helen (Korch) Guzik. He grew up working on their family dairy farm on Route 28 in Richfield Springs, NY. Tony graduated with the class of 1962 from Richfield Springs Central School, where he enjoyed participating in the Future Farmers of America (FFA).

On July 17, 1965, he married his love Judith Brown at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oneonta, NY. They raised their family in the second farmhouse on Rte. 28 and Tony continued working on the family farm with his father until 1986. After leaving the farm, Tony and Judy moved to Jordanville, NY and he was employed as a heavy-truck and equipment operator forHanson Aggregates in Jordanville, NY. He retired in 2010.

Tony was a life-long member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish and served as an usher for many years. He was also a member of the Herkimer Elks Lodge #1439 for over fifty years. He enjoyed the outdoors, attending to a large vegetable garden, swimming in his pool, and especially liked operating his favorite tractor, a Farmall 806. Tony enjoyed the fruits (and vegetables) of his labor all year by having his wife Judy make preserves and pickles and by giving some away to friends. In colder months, he kept busy restoring old tractors and snowmobiling.

In later years, Tony helped Judy with Garden Club projects. They also enjoyed traveling and took several cruises and frequently visited both friends and family. His grandsons loved visiting their grandpa, playing in the pool and riding through thefields on his ATVs and tractors.

Tony was predeceased by his wife Judith in 2020.  He is survived by two sons, Rev. Michael Guzik, SJ, of Syracuse, NY;David Guzik and wife Heidi (Ackerman) of Huntsville, AL; his beloved grandchildren: Jonathan of Fairfield, CT, and Jason of Huntsville, AL; his sister Ann Marie Hauser and her husband Gregory of Rochester, NY, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Calling hours are from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home on Tuesday May 26, 2026.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday May 27, 2026 at 12:00 pm at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Parish in Richfield Springs.  A graveside service will immediately follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Richfield Springs Volunteer Fire Department, St. Joseph's the Worker Parish, or the Herkimer Elks Lodge #1439.
