RICHFIELD SPRINGS-Barbara R. Kasprowicz , age 82 , passed away peacefully on Friday evening May 6, 2022 , in FoltsBrook Center for Nursing and rehabil itation in Herkimer.
She was born on September 5, 1939 , in Mohawk, daughter of William and Bernice Martin Robertson. She grew up in Jordanville and was a graduate of Owen D. Young High School, class of 1956. Barb first went to work as a cashier at local grocery stores. In 1966 she was united in marriage to Frank Kasprowicz and resided on their family farm in South Columbia. There she helped on the farm as well as working outside of farming. She was also in Tupperware sales and became a manager with the use of a company car. She then worked at Norstar Bank in Richfield Springs and later for NBT where she retired as a financial representative.
Mrs. Kasprowicz had a strong belief in God and was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker RC Church in Richfield Springs. She also helped out a part time in the church office. She was also a member of the Polka League and attended many functions at Roselawn. In the winter time she and her husband Frank enjoyed going to Florida as long as they were able. She also cherished the special times having their grandchildren over for weekends. She loved her family and they loved her in return. She will be sadly missed.
Mrs. Kasprowicz is survived by one sister, Shirley Wacyk of Hatfield, PA, her children, Sandra Truax of Leonardsville , Kelly Stone and her husband, Jeff of Schuyler Lake, Terry Ward and her husband Matt, of East Herkimer, James Truax and his wife Merleen of Centerville, Indiana a step-son, Greg Kasprowicz and his wife Gloria of Utica, a step-daughter, Lisa Williams and her husband Barry of Cedarville, thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours for Mrs. Kasprowicz will be on Wednesday from 5:00 until 7:00 pm in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street; Richfield Springs. Funeral service will be on Thursday at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph's Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to The American Cancer Society , 100 Lomond Court, Utica, NY 13502 or Alzheimer's Assoc. of CNY, 441 W. Kirkpatrick, Syracuse, NY 13204 . Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
