RICHFIELD SPRINGS – Beverly Ann Nagy, age 81, of Dropp Road passed away on Friday morning, June 13, 2025 in Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown.

She was born on September 24, 1943 in Plattsburgh, a daughter to the late Harry and Louise Parrott Thurber. She was raised and educated in Plattsburgh NY. After High School, Beverly enrolled in SUNY Plattsburgh which started her journey through higher education. She later attended Cedar Crest College and earned a Bachelor's of Music degree. Beverly then attended Kutztown University of Pennsylvania where she received her Master's Degree in Psychology. She began working towards her PhD in Psychology. Beverly was a self-employed psychologist. On November 23, 1963 she married Ronald L. Nagy in Plattsburgh, a blessed and loving union of sixty-one years.


Beverly was a member of the Henderson-General Nicholas Herkimer Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution serving two terms as a Regent. She loved photography and when she wasn't capturing things on film, she shared her talents on canvas by painting. She was an accomplished pianist/harpsichordist and enjoyed playing her harpsichord which she and her husband Ron built.

Surviving her are her husband Ronald, a son Daniel Nagy and his wife Beth of Lehighton, Pennsylvania; two daughters Laura Penny and her husband Brian of Alton, Virginia, and Linda Johnson of Laury's Station, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren: Rebecca Nagy, Jacob Graser, Jeffrey Graser, and Ethan Nagy; a great-granddaughter Elle Gilligan; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Audrey LaPlante.

The family will be present to receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, June 18 from 10:30 to 11:30 am in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 12:00 noon in St. Joseph the Worker Church with the Reverend Brian Lehnert, Celebrant. Burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
