Carole Joan Kowall

KING GEORGE, VA-Carole Joan Kowall , age 79 , formerly Jordanville passed away on Wednesday October 6, 2021 , at her home in King George.  She had the comfort and support of her loving family at her side.

Carole was born on February 18, 1942 , in Brooklyn, daughter of the late Frank and Ruth Pelt Diehl.  She was   raised in Brooklyn and was a graduate of Brooklyn Public Schools.  On July 8, 1961 , she was united in marriage to Leonard John Kowall in Brooklyn.  They made their home Jordanville.   She then continued her education at Herkimer County Community College receiving an Associate's Degree in Photography. For ten years Mrs. Kowall worked as a switchboard operator for the General Electric Company in Utica.  She retired in 1993. Carole had a strong belief in God and was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker RC Church in Richfield Springs. In her leisure time she and her husband enjoyed traveling and vacationing.  She was happiest when she was spending time and caring for her two granddaughters.  She will be truly missed.

Surviving besides her devoted husband of sixty years Leonard , are a son , Thomas F. Kowall and his wife Melissa of King George, VA, two cherished grandchildren, Chelsea and Emily Kowall , a close cousin Eleanor Chalew of Jordanville, several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Nelson and two sisters, Florence Schmidt and Astri d Manscalco .

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday , October 26 th at 11:30 am in Saint Joseph the Worker RC Church, Richfield Springs with the Reverend Rendell Torres, pastor officiating. After the funeral mass there will be a Celebration of Carole's life at the home Marylou Wilson, 4844 Dutch Hill Road, Frankfort. There are no calling hours.
