Charles J. Cagwin

RICHFIELD SPRINGS – Charles J. Cagwin, age 65, of Smith Road, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday January 25, 2026 in Wynn Hospital, Utica.

Charles was born August 29, 1960, a son of the late Dean and Maryanne Seymour Cagwin. He was raised and educated in Little Falls, for many years he has resided in Richfield Springs. On August 17 2002, he married the former Darlene Gage in Mohawk, a blessed union of twenty three years. He was a autobody mechanic for Skinner & Damulis in Richfield Springs and later working for Steet Ponte Chevrolet in Herkimer retiring in 2021.

He enjoyed tinkering with things if it was broken, chances are, he fixed, he enjoyed watching NASCAR, he liked fishing, hunting and his favorite past time driving around in his truck with his two beloved dogs. He was a friend to many and will never be forgotten.

Besides his wife Darlene, he is survived by a son Mark Cagwin of New Mexico, a stepson Andrew Reeves and his wife Shannon of Arizona, a sister Felicia Mosher of Little Falls, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service for Charles will be held on Saturday May 2, 2026 at 1:00 pm  in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home Inc. 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs.
