VanHornesville -Clinton Sparks Jr., age 79 , passed away peacefully on Monday evening April 11, 2022 , at the Cooper stown Center, Cooperstown.  He had the support and comfort of his loving family by his side.

Clinton was born on August 15, 1942 , at the family home in Schuyler Lake .  He was the son of the late Clinton and Elizabeth Duncan Sparks.  He was raised in Schuyler Lake and was educated in Richfield Springs High School.  On May 16, 1964 he was un it ed in marriage to the former Vivian Seamon in Chepachet.  They made their home in Schuyler Lake , in a house that Clinton built himself.  Mr. Sparks was a hardworking man.  He was a farmer, woodsman and a builder.  His primary job was with the New York State Department of Transportation in Richfield Springs.  He retired in 2003 after twenty years of dedicated service. In 2021 they left Schuyler Lake and moved to VanHornesville. In his leisure time he was an avid outdoorsman and particularly enjoyed hunting.  To all who knew Clint will always remember an honest and caring man.  Any conversation with him was straight and to the point yet you always felt his warmth and friendship whenever you were with him.  He was happiest when he was surrounded by his many friends and family , especially his cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren .  He will be sadly missed.

Surviving him are his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Vivian, four sons, Clinton Sparks III and his wife Cheryl of Hartwick, Wade Aaron Sparks and his wife Bridgett of California, Travis Wayne Sparks of VanHornesville, Heath Adam Sparks and his wife Cheri of Ohio, five daughters, Vanessa Vivian Sheldon and her husband Melzer of Richfield Springs, Wendy Theresa Crouch and her husband Dennis of Burlington Flatts, Karen a Angela Proctor and her husband Timothy of Richfield Springs, Teaha Lillian Holmes and her husband Jerry of Herkimer, Kamala Sparks of Sherburne, two sisters, Dolly Moynihan and her husband Sam of Ilion, Catherine Ervin of Mohawk, twenty-one grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral service and interment for Mr. Sparks, will be private and at the convenience of the family.  Funeral arrangements are with J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street; Richfield Springs.
