Constance L. Nassar

RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Constance (Domion) Nassar 89, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday February 20, 2023, after a wonderful long life.

She was born on December 7, 1933, the oldest child of Philip W. Domion Sr. and Katherine (Kallan) Domion.  A lifelong resident of Richfield Springs, Connie moved from the Domion family farm to town after her marriage.  She often reminisced about life on the farm, her many siblings and her love for her family and friends.

Connie was a graduate of RSCS class of 1952 and immediately was employed by the school.  She 'ran the school" for 44 years as the main office secretary.  Everyone knew her, and she was affectionately known, as "Connie in the Office".  She thought of every child as her own and remembered all ofus.    Connie was the proud mother of her son Mark Crandall whom she adored.

Connie met the love of her life, Ray Nassar at the Richfield Springs Winter Carnival.  It was love at first sight.  They enjoyed a blessed marriage of 45 years until his passing on September 10, 2021.

Connie is survived by a sister, Joan Lahr of TN, two sisters-in-law, Jean Domion, widow of Monte, Kristin Domion, widow of Jim both of Richfield Springs, brother-in-law Albert Nassar of Norwich, many nieces, nephews, great- nieces and nephews whom she loved greatly.  She also had many special friends who were family to her.  Besides her parents, Philip and Katherine, husband, Ray and son Mark, daughter-in-law, Joyce, she was preceded in death by her step-mothers Olga (Viziak) Domion and Janice (Gaylord) Domion, brothers Sonny, Edwin, Lonnie McIntosh, Monte Roy, Jim and sister Barbara.

A graveside service will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery later this spring at a date and time to be announced. There will be no calling hours as requested by Connie.  Those wishing to honor her memory may consider memorial donation to the Richfield Springs Fire Department PO Box 1456, Richfield Springs, or the Richfield Springs Community Center, 6 Ann Street, Richfield Springs, NY 13439.
