UTICA-Diana Frances Kroll age 39, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening September 24, 2020 in Faxton-St. Luke's Medical Center, New Hartford. She had the comfort and support of her loving family by her side.
Diana was born on August 7, 1981 in Ilion, daughter of the late Richard J. Kroll Grace J. Varona. A lifelong area resident she was a graduate of Mount Markham High School with the class of 1999 and went on to receive an Associate's Degree in Business from Utica School of Commerce. For the last fifteen years she worked as a secretary at the Central New York Psychiatric Center in Utica. Diana had a strong belief in God and was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker RC Church in West Winfield.
Diana had a true love for the out of doors. In her leisure time she enjoyed Kayaking and fishing at Sylvan Beach. When she was at home, much of her time was spent in her vegetable garden and was proud of the tomatoes and squash that grew so big. She also had a tendency to play harmless pranks like moving and placing plastic flamingos around her yard and in the yards of her favorite friends or family members. We all enjoyed her full belly laugh and often couldn't help but laugh with her. To all who knew her they will never forget a kind, caring and helpful person with a wonderful sense humor who loved her family as they loved her in return. She will be sadly missed.
Surviving her are a sister, Karen A. Gienau and her husband Timothy of Pawcatuck, CT, two brothers, Eric J. Kroll of Richfield Springs, Richard G. Kroll and his wife Melanie of Kirkville, her step father, Kenneth Alexander, a step-brother Kenneth Alexander and step-sister Lynn Alexander, an uncle, George Varona , four nieces, three nephews and several cousins.
