HERKIMER – D o lores Ann Smith , age 75, passed away peacefully on Monday , January 25, 2021 , at Foltsbrook Center, with her loving family at her side.
She was born on December 13, 1945 , in Herkimer, a daughter of the late Albert and Rose (Tamburro) Ingerham. A lifelong area resident she attended school in Herkimer.
Dolores worked most of her life as an Electronic Assembler. She worked at ICL, General Electric, Univac, and Lockheed Martin. After retirement she worked part-time as an office administrator at Working Solutions.
She was married to Adelbert "Skip" Smith. They shared a loving and devoted relationship for over thirty-six years until his passing on December 8, 2005.
To all who knew Dolores they will remember her kind ness and giving ways. When engaged in conversation, she could make you feel like you were the most important person in her life. If you had a problem she was the person you could lean on. If there was a celebration, she was the first person to delight in your rejoicing. She was a true and loyal friend.
Family was most important to Dolores who was also known for her fantastic cooking skills. She delighted in cooking and baking. Sunday dinners and Holidays were always a treat and will be fon dly remembered by all.
Cherished memories will be shared by the loving family she leaves behind, two sons, Kenny Edick of Schuyler and Todd Edick of Frankfort, three daughters, Mona Edick of Mohawk, Elizabeth and partner Ronald Williams Jr. of East Herkimer, and Loretta Lynn Smith of Schenectady, Nineteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two brothers, Anthony Ingerham and his wife Kathy of Herkimer, James Ingerham and his wife Sue of Mohawk, a sister , Nancy Krouse of Herkimer , many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents and husband Skip, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Billy, Donald, Charles, Patrick Ingerham and Thomas Ingraham, and t hree sisters, Katherine Ingerham , Joanne Mason, and Rose Lyga .
A special thank you to Michele Gillard from Foltsbrook for the kindness and love shown to Dolores and the support and compassion given to the family.
Calling hours will be on Saturday, January 30 th from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm in Fenner Funeral Home, Inc, 115 Court Street, Herkimer. A Prayer service will follow a t 1:00pm in the funeral home. Interment in Oak Hill Cemetery will take place later this spring.
