Donald H. Oldick, Sr.

RICHFIELD SPRINGS – Donald H. Oldick, Sr., age 83, of Patterson Road, passed away on Thursday November 14, 2024 in Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown.

He was born on January 29, 1941 in Herkimer, a son of the late Harold J. and Edna Helmer Oldick. He was raised in the Town of Warren and a graduate of Richfield Springs High School. For many years, Don was a farmer and truly loved his career. On March 25, 1961 he was untied in marriage with the former Nancy Gintley in St. Augustine Church, Ilion.

Donald loved to hunt and enjoyed his trips to Colorado and Wyoming for big game hunting. He enjoyed listening to Country and Western music and was very passionate about farming. He served many terms as the Worshipful Master of Richfield Springs Lodge No. 482 F&AM and was a member of Winfield Lodge No. 581 F&AM.

He was a down to earth person and friend to many, he will be never forgotten.

Surviving him are his wife of sixty-three years Nancy, two sons Donald Oldick, Jr. and his wife Peggy of Richfield Springs, Jim and his wife Sheila of Richfield Springs, two brothers Charles Oldick and his wife Dale of Little Falls, Stephen Oldick and his wife Linda of Springfield, a sister Diana Buell of Supply, North Carolina, twelve grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, several niece, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services for Mr. Oldick will be private and held at the convenience of his family.
