RICHFIELD SPRINGS -Dorothy Theresa Toscano age 92, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, July 18, 2022 in Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown.  She was born on October 16, 1929 in the Borough of Queens, daughter of the late Reginald Samuel and Catherine Bussman Connor.  She was raised in Elmont, Long Island and was educated in Elmont High School.  On September 13, 1952 she was united in marriage to Michael Nicholas Toscano Sr. in Saint Catherine ' s RC Church in Franklin Square, Long Island.  They shared a loving and devoted union of fifty -five years until his passing on April 23, 2008.  Mrs. Toscano had a strong belief in God and was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker RC Church in Rich f iel d Springs.  In her leisure time she enjoyed gardening and playing cards.  Dorothy will forever be remembered as a kind, caring and generous lady. She was always happy to do for others, while looking for nothing in return.  She will be sadly missed by her many friends and family especially her cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grand child .  Surviving her are a son Robert Toscano and his wife Jackie of Herkimer, two daughters, Kimberly Demarest, Tricia Bourne and her husband Ron all of Richfield Springs, ten grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Besides her parents and husband Michael she is preceded in death by her son, Michael N. Toscano Jr. on September 20, 2020, one brother, Edward Connor, two sisters, Louise Lewis and Patricia Connor.

Calling hours for Mrs. Toscano will be on Wednesday from 4:00 until 6:00 pm in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street; Richfield Springs.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 am in Saint Joseph the Worker RC Church, Richfield Springs with the Reverend Rendell Torres, pastor officiating.  Interment will follow on in Saint Joseph's Cemetery, Richfield Springs.  Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Saint Jude's Children ' s Hospital.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
