Edward "Billy" W. Ingles

RICHFIELD SPRINGS – Edward William "Billy"  Ingles, age 84, of State Highway 28, passed away on Sunday December 22, 2024, in the Foltsbrook Center, Herkimer.

He was born March 1, 1940, in Newman, California, a son of the late Lawrence F. and Mildred Harkness Ingles. He was raised and educated in Oneonta graduating with The Class of 1958 of Oneonta High School. Ed spent his life in Agriculture, always involved with farming and operating heavy equipment. In 1992 he married the former Ruth Hellmann in Corning, a blessed union of thirty-two years.

In their earlier years they operated a Dairy Farm in Lowville then in 2007 he and his wife Ruth opened Ingles Maple Products in Richfield Springs. A very successful business well known for it's maple syrup. Ed was always known as a doer, as he was a friend too many and will never be forgotten.

Besides his wife of thirty-two year years Ruth are, a daughter Heather "Heidi" Cervantes of Concord, California, three stepsons; Jonathan Selover of Owego, James Selover and his wife Doreen of Owego, Benjamin Selover of Owego, three grandchildren Cody Paup,  Gabriel Cervantes and Sidney Billings, two great-grandchildren Dillon and Ozzy, a brother- in -law George Sisson of Florida, a nephew Martin Sisson of Florida, and several cousins.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a son Jonathan Ingles, a brother James F. Ingles, a sister Catherine Sisson.

Calling hours for Mr. Ingles will be on Saturday December 28th  2:00 from 4:00pm  in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs, with a funeral service to follow after calling hours with Pastor Richard Unger of the Richfield Springs Bible Church. Interment to take place this spring in Lakeview Cemetery, Richfield Springs.
