RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Edythe Lucille Besedin, age 98, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 10, 2020 at Ston y Brook University Hospital with her family at her side.

She was born on November 5, 1921 , in Manhattan, a daughter of the late Hermann A. and Freida E. (Nemeth) Kisker.

On November 23, 1941 , she was united in marriage to Constantine V. Besedin in the Whitestone Russian Orthodox Church.  They shared a loving relationship of sixty years until his passing on June 7, 2002.

Edythe and her husband owned and operated the Veterans Motor Service in Baldwin for more than 30 years.  They retired in 1977.

The family enjoyed vacationing at Canadarago Lake from 1972, making Richfield Springs there permanent home in 1991, coming from Lynbrook.

Edythe was a kind and loving, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.  She was happiest spending cherished time each of them.

Surviving are her devoted childre n, Robert Besedin and his wife Judy Ann of Baldwin, Judie Cole and her husband Al of Albany , and Thomas Besedin and his wife Lee of Islandia , with whom she had res ided for the past three years, four grandchildren, Laura Besedin of Bellmore, Robert Besedin, Jr. of Baldwin, Christopher Mayer and his wife Jennifer of Richfield Springs, Elizabeth Schultz and her husband Matt of Tonawanda , six great-grandchildren, Gabriella and Alexandria Hartman, Sullivan and Brendan Mayer, Lucy and Ava Schultz , several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am in J . Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 W. James Street, Richfield Springs.  Interment will follow in Lakevie w Cemetery.

The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends o n Friday from 3:00 until 6:00 pm.
