Elizabeth Hazel (Seamon) Collins, 90, passed away on January 26, 2026 in Ocala, Florida. She passed peacefully in the home of her daughter, Roxanne, after an extended battle with dementia. Liz was born on July 17, 1935 at Old Farm in the Town of Exeter, Otsego County. She was educated at the Richfield Springs Central Schools and was the daughter of Louis, Sr and Martha (Domion) Seamon.
Liz was pre-deceased by her husband, Lee Collins, in November 2016 after 58 years of marriage. Liz was one of 18 children raised by Louis, Sr and Martha. She is survived by her brother, Grant Seamon, who resides in Richfield Springs. She was pre-deceased by her parents, her sisters Mae Belle Bond (half sister), Marguerite Palmer, Ginny Homa, Rose Zenner, Genevieve Spytko, and brothers Willis (half brother), Harry (half brother), Lee, Devere, Fred, Louis Jr, Floyd, Herb, Jim (twin brother), Ed, and Merton Sr.
Liz was a strong, independent woman who purchased what would become the CollinsView Farm in Jordanville in 1957, at a time when women were not allowed to make such purchases. With frequent trips to the Pea Vinery in Richfield Springs for cattle feed, she would cross paths with Lee Collins. Absolutely smitten with Liz, Lee would eventually ask her out on a date - thus beginning the partnership at CollinsView Farm. Together, they operated a dairy and beef cattle farm for almost 40 years before selling in 1996. Other livestock on the farm included dogs, pigs, ducks, chickens, rabbits, and horses.
Liz and Lee raised a family of four who learned the values of hard work and a sense of family commitment. Their children are Dan (Cathy) Collins of Jordanville, NY, Roxanne (William Stalnaker) Collins of Ocala, Fl, Sandy (Joanne) Augstein-Collins of Niskayuna, NY, and Dena (Mike Tylee) Collins of Cleveland, NY. Grandchildren include Sarah Puskarenko (Halil Hrustanovic), Seth Puskarenko, Michael Collins (Alexandra), Leland Collins III (Devon), Jennifer Maxwell (Matthew), Marty Collins (Tala Chunga), Lakota Bentley (Autumn), Kiley Augstein-Collins and Teagan Augstein-Collins. Great grandchildren include Nahira Hrustanovic, Paul Collins, Landy Collins, Davy Collins, Samantha Maxwell, Lakota Bentley, Jr, and a new Maxwell arrival coming in March. Other survivors include a multitude of nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Marion County Hospice and Liz's care team - Essence Taylor, MSW, Mandy Barker, RN, Mike Nilon, CP, and Gloria White, CNA.
