Freidhelm Duevel

RICHFIELD SPRINGS – Friedhelm Duevel, age 82, of Woodside Avenue passed away on Friday Evening May19, 2023, in Valley Health Services, Herkimer.

He was born on November 13, 1940 in Einbeck, Germany, a son of the late Konrad W. and Frieda Meiritz Duevel. He was raised and educated in Germany. He immigrated to the United States in 1964 from Germany. Friedhelm worked in construction as a tile setter, through the Bricklayers Union No. 1 in Washington State for many years. On May 28, 1977 he married the former Nancy Miller on her family farm in Starkville. Friedhelm and Nancy lived in various places before settling in Richfield Springs since 2014. Friedhelm was a hardworking man truly dedicated to his trade.

Surviving him are his wife of forty five years Nancy, two sons Thomas Duevel of Princeton, Texas, Andrew Duevel of Brownsboro, Texas, two sisters Erika Della Fortuna of Kamloops, Canada and Ilona Loeberman of Northeim, Germany, four granddaughters Kristine, Brittany, Ashley and Gabrielle.

Funeral service for Mr. Duevel will be private. Arrangements are J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs.
