SPRINGFIELD - Grace Elizabeth (Betty) Campbell Pullis, age 96, of McShane Road, passed away on January 1, 2025 with family at her side.
She was born on February 2, 1928 in Branchville, New Jersey a daughter of the late Percy Campbell and Laura Decker Murphy. She graudated from Newton High School in 1946. On September 18, 1948 she married Russell J. Pullis in Branchville, a blessed union of fifty years until his passing in 1999. Russell and Betty established Roedale Farm in 1950, moving to Springfield, New York in 1972. She resided at the family farm, in the home that she designed and built, until her passing.
Betty was a very talented artist, specializing in the Art of Porcelain Painting. She had traveled to Germany, Japan, and Thailand to teach this beautiful art. She continued to paint, including the day before her death. Betty dedicated her working life to dairy farming and her retirement to travel, including many countires, notably Kenya at age 88 and the Caribiean at age 96.
Surviving her are a daughter LuAnn Bartsch and her husband Robert of Tyler Hill, Pennsylvania and two sons; Allan Pullis and his wife Patricia of Springfield, Russell Pullis and his wife Lynda of Montville, New Jersey, eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, special nephew Drew Foti and treasured friend Diane Jouben.
Besides her husband Russell and her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers Robert Campbell and Frank Campbell, a sister Elmira Foti and her step-father Earl Murphy.
Calling hours for Betty will be Sunday, January 5th from 12:00-2:00pm in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs, with a funeral service to follow at 2:00pm. Burial will take place on Saturday May 17th at 11:00am in Springfield Center Cemetery.
