Harry E. Kineke, age 90 of West Main Street, passed away on Friday May, 14, 2021 in Abraham House, Utica.
Harry was born on June 1, 1930 in Farmingdale, Long Island a son to the late William and Carrie Doty Kineke. He was raised and educated in Farmingdale graduating from Farmingdale High School. In 1951 Harry enlisted in the United States Army proudly serving our country as a Paratrooper with the 82 nd Airborne during the Korean War until he was honorably discharged in 1953. On July 20, 1963 he married the former Dorothy Herrschaft in Copiague a blessed union of thirty-eight years until her passing on March 17, 2002.
Harry was a finish carpenter by trade for many years he worked for Gaetano Construction in Utica. After his retirement he worked on the mansion at the Gelston Castle Estate in Mohawk. He was a volunteer fireman with the Springfield Center Fire Department. He loved to play golf as well as enjoying his time watching it on tv. He was a friend to many and he will never be forgotten.
Surviving him are three sons John Mazzeo of Sevierville, TN, Daniel Kineke of Jacksonville, FL, Arthur "Mickey" Kineke and his wife Barbara of Mohawk, five grandchildren Lisa Kineke, Daniel Kineke, Olga Kineke, Michael Kineke, Kevin Kineke, three great-grandchildren Addison, Liam and Claire Kineke.
Besides his wife Dorothy he was preceded in death by brother John Kineke.
A funeral service for Mr. Kineke will take on Tuesday at 1:00pm in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs with Pastor Ronald Fralick, officiating. There will be an hour of visitation prior to the funeral service from 12:00-1:00pm.
