Helen-Eileen Mondore

RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Helen-Eileen "Fredi" Mondore, age 81, of Butternut Road, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2024 following a brief illness. She passed peacefully with her family by her side.

Helen-Eileen was born on March 14, 1943 in Amityville, NY, the daughter of the late Edward and Josephine Baunach. She was a graduate of Massapequa High School with the Class of 1961 and attended Browns Business School in New York City. On October 31, 1964 she married Charles Edward Mondore in the Hartwick Seminary Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Helen-Eileen loved serving Jesus with her Richfield Springs Bible Chruch family and was treasurer for Mission Aides and a teacher at the Richfield Springs Christian School, Vaction Bible School, and Olympians inspiring generations of children who still fondly remember her today. She was a skilled wildlife artist and member of the Cooperstown Art Association. Helen-Eileen was a talented soparano and sang in the church choir for many years and Glimmerglass Opera chorus. She was a member of the World Wildlife Fund Inc. and had a true love for all animals especially pandas and her many companion pets. She was very dedicated to and proud of her family and cherished her time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Helen-Eileen was a very strong advocate for the Pro-Life Movement believing that all lives matter.

Surviving her are husband of fifty-nine years Chuck (Charles), her four children and their spouses; Lisa Mondore-Tekinay and her husband Kem Tekinay of Stamford, CT. Scot Mondore and his wife Stephanie of Richfield Springs, Stephen Hesler-Mondore and husband Wayne of Richfield Springs, Russell Mondore and his wife Jennifer of West Winfield, her grandchildren; Adrianna Ulinski and her husband Eric, Shannah Mondore, Sarah VanValkenburg and her husband Aaron, and Nicholas Mondore and his girlfriend Madison Deak; three great-grandchildren Annalise, Owen and Alec Ulinski, her siblings Caroline Johnston and her husband Jim of Elko, Nevada, Phyllis Jo Baunach and her husband Chuck Dunleavy of Alexandria, Virginia, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Edward Dayton Baunach and a grandson Zachary Stephen Mondore.

Calling hours will be on Friday, August 23, from 11:00am – 12:00pm in the Richfield Springs Bible Church, 17 Church Street, Richfield Springs. At the conclusion of calling hours a funeral service will take place at the church with Pastor Richard Unger, officiating. Interment to follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Richfield Springs.
