Helene Zylinsky

RICHFIELD SPRINGS – Helene Zylinsky, age 78, of Church Street, passed away peacefully on Saturday May 2, 2026 in her home.

Helene was born on February 5, 1948 in Belgium, a daughter of the late Wasyl and Nadia Thomchenko Zylinsky. Helene and her family migrated to America residing in New York City. On May 1, 1971 she married Andrew Zylinsky in St. George Church in Manhattan, a blessed union of fifty-five years. Helene was a dedicated homemaker, taking care of her husband and three children.

Helene was a member of St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Herkimer. She enjoyed crocheting and painting ceramics, most of all being with her friends and family.

Surviving are her husband Andrew, two sons; Andrew Zylinsky, Jr. of Hartwick, John Zylinsky and his wife Susan of Westernville, a daughter Tania Gray and her husband Ryan of Avon, Ohio, two brothers Nicholas Kalyna and his wife Luba of East Windsor, New Jersey, Paul Kalyna and his wife Henia of Pennsylvania, ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews , and cousins.

Callings hours for Mrs. Zylinsky will be held on Sunday, May 10th from 4:00-5:00pm in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home Inc., 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs, a funeral to follow at 5:00pm. Burial to take place on Monday at 11:00am in Carmichael Hill Cemetery, Westernville.
