JORDANVILLE-Inga D. Rudd age 75 of Jordanville passed away peacefully on Saturday February 5, 2022 at Cobleskill Regional Hospital, following a brief-illness.
Inga was born on April 7, 1946 in Bleicherode, Germany, the daughter of the late Walter and Ingeborg Emmelmann. Inga's family immigrated to the United States from post-war Germany in 1957, and then was raised and educated in Ellington, Connecticut. Inga was a graduate of Ellington High School and attended college at Baypath College, where she studied art. On March 20, 1969 she was united in marriage to Allan Rudd in Ellington, Connecticut and were married for fifty-one years. Allan and Inga moved to Jordanville in 1972, where they ran their own dairy farm, MTR Farms. Allan and Inga retired from dairy farming in 2010. Inga worked as a librarian until her death, first at the community library in Jordanville, and later at the Mid-York Library System in Utica.
Inga rode and loved horses all her life, a love she passed down to her children and grandchildren. She mothered each and every stray animal that came to the farm. Inga was an avid reader, and always ensured her family and friends, especially her grandchildren, were well supplied with books. Inga was a friend to many and will never be forgotten.
Inga is survived by a son Thomas Rudd and his wife Dr. Kelly Rudd of Vinita, Oklahoma, a daughter Dr. Stephanie Stein and her husband Dr. Joseph Stein of Hampton, New Jersey, her four beloved grandchildren Reagan & Colton Rudd and Rowdy & Irina Stein, her brother Peter and wife Pat Emmelmann of Broad Brook, Connecticut and sister-in-law Penny McNeish of Indianapolis, Indiana, nephew and nieces Marc Emmelmann, Marie Wilkins and Erika Emmelmann, and great-nieces Kat Thomas and Brooke & Skylar Emmelmann. She was preceded in death by her husband Allen in 2020, an infant son and her nephew Brad Emmelmann.
Funeral services for Mrs. Rudd will be private and at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements are with the J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs .
