James Nelson Houghtaling

We mourn the loss of our beloved Brother, James Nelson Houghtaling.  Jim was born on December 28th, 1934 in New Berlin, N.Y., the second child of Hugh and Beulah Houghtaling. Jim's childhood home was Warren, N.Y., followed by his youth in Richfield Springs, N.Y. Jim graduated from RSCS, class of 1952 where he excelled in athletics. One of his favorite pastimes was cheering on the home town ball clubs  along with fly fishing in the Adirondack lakes and streams . Jim enlisted in the United States Marine Corps upon graduation from RSCS followed by studies at Morrisville Tech and Denver University.  Jim later worked as a produce manager at local Mohawk Valley super markets for many years. In 1967, Jim married Mary Ann DeRosa, a loving marriage until she sadly passed away in 1993. In his retirement years, Jim resided in San Antonio, Texas. He is survived by his Sister, Jean  Day Rubin, Sierra Vista, Az., Brother, John Houghtaling, Zephyrhills, FL. Niece, Grace Fuess, San Antonio, TX., as well as many nieces and nephews.
