Joseph Di Rosa

RICHFIELD SPRINGS – Joseph Di Rosa, age 76, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, February 3, 2022, in Cooperstown Center Nursing Facility after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's.

He was born on August 1, 1945, in Paterson, NJ, son of the late Anthony and Victoria (Gulino) Di Rosa.  Joseph was baptized in Saint Anthony's RC Church in Paterson, NJ.  He was educated at PS 16, PS 15, East Side HS, in addition to an Industrial Tech School in Paterson.

On July 14, 1964, he enlisted in the US Navy.  He served aboard the USS Randolph (CVS-15) and honorably discharged on October 29, 1968.  In 1984 he moved to Richfield Springs coming from New Jersey.  On August 7, 1988, he was united in marriage to the former Rose Bak in Richfield Springs.  For eight years, Mr. Di Rosa was employed as a parts manager for Freightliner in Utica, retiring in 2009.  Joseph had a strong faith in God and was a member of St. Joseph the Worker RC Church in Richfield Springs.  He was also a member of the Richfield Springs Vets Club # 616.

In his leisure time he enjoyed motorcycles, trucks, woodworking, hunting and dancing with his wife Rose.  To all who knew him they will never forget a kind, caring, loving and loyal husband and father.  He was always there for them and will be sadly missed.

He is survived by his devoted wife of thirty-three years, Rose, a son, Anthony Di Rosa of Syracuse, one daughter, Abigale Leigh Di Rosa of N. Tonawanda, a step-son, Zachary James Robinson of WY, a brother, Mario Di Rosa and his wife Marie of Ft. Myers, FL, nephews, Steven Crawford and his wife Angela of Clifton, NJ and Alfred Crawford of NJ.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Adeline Crawford.

Military honors provided by the US Navy will take place with the family at a later time.
