Juanita C. Bartl

RICHFIELD SPRINGS – Juanita Caroline Bartl, age 94, currently residing at The Grand in Ilion, formerly of Richfield Springs passed away on Friday Morning August 11, 2023.

She was born on June 5, 1929 in Norwich a daughter to the late Vern and Carrie Pebbles Case. Raised in Fly Creek with her mother and stepfather Joseph Sauers and she was educated in Fly Creek and Cooperstown Schools. On December 13, 1948 she married John J. Bartl, Jr. in Oneonta, a blessed union of forty three years until his passing in June 8, 1992. For many years Juanita was a billing clerk at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown. She was also a dedicated mother to her children and truly cared for her family.

Surviving her are a son John J. Bartl, III of Richfield Springs, a daughter Carol Attridge of Richfield Springs, six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and several cousins.

Besides her husband and her parents she was preceded in death by two sons Philip Bartl and Stephen J. Bartl, a granddaughter Julie Attridge and a step-brother Henry Jones.

Calling hours for Mrs. Bartl will be on Saturday August 19 from 10:00-11:00am in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs, a funeral service to follow at 11:00am in the funeral home with the Reverend Rendell Torres officiating. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Richfield Springs.
