Kendall A. Llewellyn (born in Utica, NY, on Dec. 3, 1957) passed away surrounded by loved ones in West Palm Beach, FL, in March 15, 2023.
He graduated from Richfield Springs Central School in 1978and soon afterward found employment with the State of New York in Albany. Smart and ambitious, he met his goal of retiring at age 40.
He was an urbane gentleman with sophisticated tastes who enjoyed spending summers at the Saratoga Race Course, getting to know the jockeys to make more informed wagers.
He was also a good ol' country boy who was forever proud that his class in elementary school voted to visit his Grandpa Pett'sfarm on a field trip. He loved his mother dearly, and she routinely, and often secretively, joined in on some of his adventures.
Kendall was smooth-talking yet bawdy. He enjoyed fine food and boxed wine. He loved to travel, often to climates warmer than Upstate New York. He lived in Latham, NY, for many years before finally making the leap to purchase a home in West Palm Beach in 2012. There, he enjoyed dining by the oceanside and watching the waves roll in.
He married his sweetheart, Estela, on Feb. 26, 2013, and she had the chance to enjoy many sunshiney adventures with him as well.
Kendall was pre-deceased by his parents, Julia and AlferdLlewellyn, as well as his brothers John, Alferd Jr. and Robert. He is survived by myriad cousins, nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly, spread across the country, all who have fond memories of Uncle Kendall – like the way he would hold your hand to ask you how you were doing, genuinely interested in the answer.
A memorial service for family will be taking place on June 12 at 11am in Lakeview Cemetery, Richfield Springs.
