Kenneth A. Foster

RICHFIELD SPRINGS – Kenneth Alan Foster, age 76, of US Highway 20, passed away on Monday Afternoon August 4, 2025, in his home.

Ken was born May 5, 1949, in Herkimer, a son to the late Norman E. and Marian K. Richardson Foster. He was raised and educated in Richfield Springs and a graduate of Richfield Springs High School. On April 12, 1969, he married the former Donna Jean VanAlstine in the Richfield Springs Methodist Church a blessed union of fifty-six years. He served our nation in the United States Army National Guard. He had worked many jobs, starting with Montgomery Wards in Herkimer, then with Remington Arms in Ilion, later he became a tractor trailer driver with S&R Sloans Trusses, Company in Utica, a self-employed excavator, while doing all of that he ran his Dairy Farm the Foster Richardson Dairy Farm.

He really enjoyed dairy farming and tractors, he enjoyed watching NASCAR, he loved his Pontiac GTO and most of all watching his son play football.

He was a friend to many and surely will be missed.

Besides his wife Donna Jean, he survived by his son Michael Foster and his wife Judy of Richfield Springs, a grandson Devin Foster of Richfield Springs, a brother the Reverend James Foster and his wife Janice of Fenton, Michigan, a sister Marilyn Kennerknecht and her husband Paul of Starkville, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services for Mr. Foster will be private and at the convenience of the family.
