RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Kenneth W. Wilson, age 87, of Bronner Street, passed away peacefully on Monday December 18, 2023 in his home.

He was born on January 18, 1936 in the Town of Warren, a son to the late Newton B. and Evelyn J. Jones Wilson. Ken was locally raised and educated. On August 17, 1957 he married the former Loretta Hugick in St. Joseph's Church in Richfield Springs a blessed union of sixty-six years. At one time Ken served Our Nation in the Army National Guard.  For thirty-seven years, Ken was a union laborer in construction working for Union Local No. 35 in Utica. He also had served on the board of Union Local 35 as the Seargent at Arms.

In his spare time Ken enjoyed working on his tractors, occasionally he loved taking anyone that would go with him in his Red Willys Pickup Truck. Most of all Ken loved to be with his family, especially with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and the great great-grandchildren.

Surviving him besides his wife Loretta, are a son Stephen Wilson of New Berlin, two daughters; Laurie Bond and her husband Dennis of Richfield Springs, Michele Barrett and her husband Jim of Springfield, two brothers; David Wilson and his wife Beverly of Richfield Springs, Thomas Wilson of West Winfield, a sister; Jeanette Varley of Ilion, six grandchildren; Nicole O'Connor and her husband Ken of Richfield Springs, Derrek Bond of California, Breanne Bond and her husband Kyle Nywening of Schenectady, Lynzie Hamer of Ilion, Kaylee Wilson of Richfield Springs, Griffin Barrett of Springfield, six great-grandchildren; Riley O'Connor, Samantha O'Connor, Madison O'Connor, Emma White, Owen Nywening, and Zayden Hamer and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by four brothers; Joseph Wilson, Henry Wilson, Robert Wilson, William Wilson, and four sisters; Elsie Rourke, Wealthy Wilson, Adalaide Eckler, and Frances Oakes.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mr. Wilson on Friday May 31st at 11:15am in St. Joseph the Worker Church, Richfield Springs. .

Arrangements are with J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs.

Expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory with donations to the St. Jude Childrens Hospital or Helios Hospice Care in Oneonta.
