Leo Edward Barrett

RICHFIELD SPRINGS – Leo Edward Barrett, age 76, of County Highway24, passed away on Friday Evening June 6, 2025 in Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown.

Leo was born on March 18, 1949 in Cooperstown, a son to the late William C. and Elizabeth Kaminski Barrett. He was raised and educated in Richfield Springs. After High School Leo served in the United States Army. He married the former Donna D Perkett in South Columbia. Donna passed away in March of 2013.

For many years he was a lumber handler for the Library Bureau in Herkimer retiring in 1991.

Surviving him is his son William Barrett, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by three brothers; Howard, Paul and Joe Barrett, four sisters: Irma Vickerson, Jean Kicklighter, Ann Volo, Irene Davis and Helen Clements and his best friend and cousin Donald Barrett.

A graveside service for Mr. Barrett will be held on Wednesday June 18th at 10:00am in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Richfield Springs.
