RICHFIELD SPRINGS – Marian K. Foster, age 101, of US Highway 20, passed away at her home on Thursday February 20, 2025.

Marian was born on May 10, 1923 in the home she lived in her whole life, she was a daughter to the late Claude M. and Kathleen E. MacGeen Richardson. She was a graduate with the Class of 1941 from Richfield Springs High School. After High School she attended vocational studies setting her career to become a Secretary. Her career began with Remington Arms, then Marfa Army Air Field in Texas then a short time at Mather Air Force Base, California, before returning to Richfield Springs where she was the secretary Andrews Press better known as the Pennysaver. She retired in 1986. On June 14, 1944 she married Norman E. Foster in the parsonage of the Richfield Springs Methodist Church a blessed union of fifty-five years until his passing on November 21, 1999.

Marian enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, she enjoyed gardening growing flowers and loved watching birds especially cardinals. She loved her family and enjoyed any time she could be with them.

She is survived by her daughter Marilyn Kennerknecht and her husband Paul of Starkville, two sons The Reverend James Foster and his wife Janice of Fenton, Michigan, Kenneth Foster and his wife Donna Jean of Richfield Springs, four grandchildren Michael Foster and his wife Judy of Richfield Springs, Christopher Foster and his wife Caralin of Fenton, Michigan, Beth Marone and her husband Tom of Fayetteville Georgia, Megan Kennerknecht of Fort Plain, three great-grandchildren,Devin Foster, Tatum and Tristan Foster, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her parents and husband Norman she was preceded in death by her brother Alvin Richardson and two sisters Maude Potter and Dorothy Oldfield.

A graveside funeral service will be held May 20, 2025 at 11:00am in Lakeview Cemetery, Richfield Springs.

Expressions of sympathy may be made in donations to the Richfield Springs Fire Department, PO Box 1496, Richfield Springs, New York 13439.

Funeral arrangements are with J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, Richfield Springs.
