Marie G. Seamon

BURLINGTON FLATS -Marie G. Seamon, age 98, of Arnold Road, formerly of Richfield Springs passed away Tuesday morning August 29, 2023, in the home of  her son Marty.

She was born on April 25, 1925 in Flushing, New York a daughter of the late Eugene and Anna Ey Carlson. She was raised and educated in Flushing until her family moved to Connecticut. In 1945 she moved to Richfield Springs where she met Louis S. Seamon, Jr., they married that year on September 30th in St. John's Episcopal Church, Richfield Springs.

She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Richfield Springs and was a dedicated homemaker raising her nine children. She loved to sew, knit, and crochet, she also enjoyed needlepoint but most of all she loved being with her family.

Surviving her are five sons; Tex Seamon and his wife Betty of Richfield Springs, Monty Seamon and his wife Candice of Richfield Springs, Marty Seamon and his Karen of Burlington Flats, Rex Seamon and his wife Dawn of Richfield Springs, Jeff Seamon also of Richfield Springs, two daughters; DiAnna Reynolds and husband Henry of Kennebunk, Maine, Deondra Seamon and her fiancé Patrick of Utica, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her parents and husband Louis she was preceded in death by two sons, Phillip and William Seamon, eight brothers, and three sisters.

Calling hours for Mrs. Seamon will be Friday September 22th from 5:00-7:00 pm in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs. A funeral service will be on Saturday morning September 23rd at 11:00am in the funeral Home with the Rev. Kyle Grennen officiating. Burial to follow in Twilight Rest Cemetery, Monticello.

Expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory with donations to St. John's Episcopal Church envelopes will be available in the funeral home.
