Mary Jane Jackson age 63, passed away on Tuesday evening, November 12, 2019, in Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown.    She had the support and comfort of her loving family at her side.

Mary was born on August 5, 1956 in Amsterdam, daughter  of the late Victor B. and Dorothy R. Damulis.  A lifelong area resident, she was a graduate of Richfield Springs High School.  On August 25, 1979 she was united in marriage to the love of her life Donald William Jackson.  Mrs. Jackson worked as a Certified Nursing Aide at The Meadows Nursing Facility in Cooperstown where she touched many lives.  She retired in November 2017 after thirty-five years of dedicated service.   Mary had a strong belief in God and led a devoted Catholic life.  To those who knew her she was a caring, loving and helpful lady who enjoyed doing for others while looking for nothing in return.  She was happiest when she was surrounded by her many friends and family, especially her cherished grandchildren.  A totally dedicated family woman she will be truly missed.

She is survived by her loving husband of forty years Donald, a daughter, Jill Jackson of Richfield Springs, one son, Jonathan Jackson and his wife, Elsie of Cooperstown, one brother, Anthony Damulis and his wife Darlene of Burlington Flats, two sisters, Martha Andrews and her husband Steven of Schenectady, Rosina VanDeWall of Watertown, her three grandchildren, Clifton Mercer and Cameron Mercer both of Richfield Springs, Julian Jackson of Cooperstown, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours for Mrs. Jackson will be on Tuesday from 4:00 until 7:00 pm in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street; Richfield Springs.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 11:00 am in Saint Joseph the Worker RC Church, Richfield Springs with Father Silvaster Sarihaddula, Pastor officiating.  Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frankfort.
