RICHFIELD SPRINGS-Nancy Smith Druse age 91 passed away on Sunday morning October 3, 2021 in Little Falls Hospital.  She was born on August 17, 1930 in Springfield Center, daughter of the late Leland Stanford and Gladys Kelly Smith.  Nancy was a graduate of Springfield Central School class of 1948 and furthered her education at the Utica School of Commerce in Utica.  Through the years she was employed by the Smalley Theatres, Inc., the offices of the Otsego County Clerk and Otsego County Treasure followed by twenty-five years with the State Bank of Albany (Fleet/Norstar), Richfield Springs Branch.  She retired in 1990.  Mrs. Druse was a past matron of both Evergreen and Arbutus Chapters, Order of the Eastern Star and presently a member of the Otsego County Women's Republican Club and other local organizations.  She was a former member and organist of Saint Mary's Episcopal Church in Springfield Center and later a member and organist at Saint John's Episcopal Church in Richfield Springs.  She was united in marriage with Frank C. Druse Sr., in Richfield Springs. Theirs was a devoted union of forty-five years until his passing in 2004.  Before and after retirement, several winters were spent in Florida.  With their motor home she and her husband traveled widely in the US and Canada.  She was avid bowler, crafter and self-taught musician.

Mrs. Druse was preceded in death by her parents and husband.  Surviving are a step-son, Frank C. Druse Jr. and his wife Maribeth, step-grandsons, Mathew and his wife Arlene, , and their children, Kyra Lynn Druse, Samuel Edward Druse, of Springfield, Frank C. Druse III, and Mitchell Combs of Port Chester,  two surviving cousins, several nieces and nephews by marriage and very special friends, Shelly Smith and Sylvia Wilder.

On Saturday October 9 th at 10:00 am, Mrs. Druses' life will be remembered and celebrated in Saint Mary's Episcopal Church Springfield Center.  Interment will follow in Springfield Center Cemetery.  Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to St. Mary's Episcopal Church PO Box 376, Springfield Center, NY 13468 or the Susquehanna SPCA, 4841 State Hwy 28, Cooperstown, NY 13326.
