ROME – Nancy Lou Hugick, age 87, passed away on Sunday December 31,2023 in The Grand Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility, Rome.
She was born on November 9, 1936 in Utica a daughter to the late Irving and Lorraine Hazelton Seidel. Nancy was raised and educated in Richfield Springs and a graduate of Richfield Springs High School. On September 8, 1956 she married Theodore Hugick in the Richfield Springs United Methodist Church, a blessed union of fifty-one years until his passing on June 14, 2005. Nancy was a homemaker dedicated to her family.
Surviving her are a daughter Linda Tedford and her husband Matthew of Blossvale, a sister Cynthia Foster of Florida, two grandchildren; Theresa Beckwith and her husband Scott, Scotty Tedford and his wife Amanda, six great-grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons Dennis Hugick and Theodore A. Hugick, two brothers Rudy Seidel and Butch Ames, and a sister Sonya Pugh.
Calling hours for Mrs. Hugick will be on Tuesday January 9th form 4:00-5:00pm in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs, and a funeral service to follow at 5:00pm. Burial in Lakeview Cemetery, Richfield Springs, will take place this spring.
A celebration of life will be held at a later time to be announced.
