COOPERSTOWN-Patricia E. Chase, age 77, of Main Street, formerly a longtime Richfield Springs resident, passed away on April 30, 2024,  at Woodside Hall. She had the comfort of her loving family by her side at the time of her passing.

Patricia was born with the "Luck of the Irish" on March 17, 1947,  in Cooperstown, daughter of the late Temple A. "Temp" and Mary Walsh Purcell. She was raised and educated in Richfield Springs and a graduate of Richfield Springs High School. Patricia was married initially to Robert J. Hugick, then later married Laurence Chase who passed in 2005. For many years Patricia worked as a Certified Nurses Aide at The Meadows in Cooperstown, eventually retiring in 2009.

One word that could be used to describe Patricia is "Caregiver."  She always put her friends and family before herself. Whenever you were in need, she was there for you. She enjoyed gardening, baking, singing and dancing to the oldies, being with her friends and most importantly, her family. Her children and her grandchildren were her world. Later in life she enjoyed going on long rides which usually included stopping for her favorite treat, ice cream.

She was truly a friend to many and will never be forgotten.

Surviving her are a son Robert T. Hugick and his wife Susan of Roseboom, two daughters Rhonda Doherty and her husband Glen of Loudonville, Renee` Hugick and her companion Earl Wilkinson of Schuyler Lake, a brother John Purcell and his wife Marilyn of Richfield Springs, two grandchildren Connor Doherty and Regan Doherty, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her parents and her husband,  she was preceeded in death by two sisters, Helen Purcell and MaryAnn "Teddy" Sutton.
