at Palatine Nursing Home, in Palatine Bridge, NY.
Raymond was born on May 24, 1931, in Bangall, NY, son to the late Raymond Knickerbocker, Sr. and Norine Bullis Knickerbocker.
Ray was raised in the Bangall, Stanfordville, and Wappingers Falls, NY area. He was a 1949 graduate of Wappingers Falls Highschool.
On July 1, 1951, Raymond married Jean Hubble in Poughkeepsie, a union that last 69 years.
Raymond learned the skill of plumbing and heating from his Uncle Del, while a young man, and continued this occupation was for his entire life.
Ray also loved farming and had a few animals for many years and did haying. While a junior in high school, Ray traveled by train on the
cattle show circuit, helping care for the cattle.
Over the years, Ray was a very supportive member of several churches, and was very active in them, the last being the Richfield Bible Church--
the people he cherished and appreciated so much.
He is survived by his sister Minnie Knickerbocker Lown. In addition, he is survived by four sons and their wives, Benjamin Knickerbocker and his wife Son-i of Wheatland WY, David Knickerbocker and his wife Deborah of Toccoa, GA, Timothy Knickerbocker and his wife Jackie of Clinton Corners, NY and Jonathan Knickerbocker and his wife Margaret of Fort Plain, NY. He was blessed with two daughters, Lucile Burell and her husband Bryan of Valley Cottage, NY and Nancy Chapman and her husband Glen of Canajoharie, NY.
He and his wife, Jean (who preceded him in death--November 2020) enjoyed 19 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. What a blessing!
