Robert M. Burditt

RICHFIELD SPRINGS – Robert M. Burditt, 71, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023 at Bassett Medical
Center in Cooperstown. He had the peace and comfort of his loving family by his side.

Robert was born January 8, 1952 in Cooperstown, son to the late Dean and Ann Hannahs Burditt. He was
raised and educated in Richfield Springs. On September 30, 1978, he was united in marriage with the
former Joan Duga in St. Joseph's Church, Richfield Springs, a loving and blessed union of forty-four years.
Robert and Joan resided and raised a family in Richfield Springs.

He held prior employment with the New York State Canal System, the Village of Richfield Springs, and
Titan Homes. Robert loved the outdoors, at one time being an avid hunter and fisherman. Anyone who
knew him, knew his passion for golfing. He was a longtime and dedicated member of the Richfield
Springs Sons of the American Legion Post #616 and was also a member of the Richfield Springs Volunteer
Fire Department, where he later obtained the status of Exempt Fireman.
Robert was a dedicated family man, serving as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. A friend to
many, his memory will be fondly cherished.

Surviving him are his wife Joan, a son Christopher Burditt and his companion Heather Brownell of
Richfield Springs, a daughter Jennifer Mayer and her husband Christopher of Richfield Springs, four
grandchildren John and Dylan Burditt and Sullivan and Brendan Mayer, four sisters DeanAnn Koyanagi
and her husband Richard of Sun City, Arizona, Sue Neale of Richfield Springs, Vivian Button and her
husband Richard of Horseheads, Betty Schultz and her companion Eric Lindroth of Hartwick, as well as
several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Richard Burditt.

A graveside service will take place on Saturday, July 22nd at 10:30 am at St. Joseph's Cemetery in
Richfield Springs with the Deacon Richard Brown to officiate.

Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial contributions to the Richfield Springs Rescue
Squad and to the Richfield Springs Sons of the American Legion Post #616.
