RICHFIELD SPRINGS – Robert B. Graepel, age 80, of Dugan Road, passed away peacefully on Saturday Morning July 13, 2024 in Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown, He had the comfort of his loving family by his side at the time of his passing.

Robert was born February 11, 1944 in Queens, New York a son of the late Charles and Evelyn Fisher Graepel. He was raised and educated in Syossett, New York. After graduating High School, Robert enlisted in the United  States Army, he was a Specialist Grade 4, he served our country as a Sharpshooter from 1963 to 1965. After the Army he worked for Local 580 in New York City then moved to Richfield Springs in 1986. At one time he was married to the former Ellen Waldruff. In 1986 he purchased the Tally Ho Restaurant in Richfield Springs operating it up to his passing.

He was a quiet man who enjoyed to be with his family and his companion Linda Bond. Truly he was a friend to many and will never be forgotten.

Surviving him are his companion Linda Bond, a son Robert Graepel, Jr. and his wife Elizabeth of Richfield Springs, a daughter Heather Teachout and her husband Scott of Richfield Springs, eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a sister-in-law Carol Graepel of Pleasant Valley.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers; Kenneth and Roy Graepel.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday July 20th at 6:00pm in the Richfield Springs Vets Club, 13 Lake Street, Richfield Springs, with the Pastor Jill Stellman to officiate. Upon the conclusion of the service Military Honors for Mr. Graepel will be accorded by the United States Army.

Arrangements are with J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs.
