Robert L. Mang, Sr.

TOWN of WARREN – Robert L. Mang, Sr. age 87 of Ostrander Road passed away peacefully on Wednesday Morning December 14, 2022 in his home.

Robert was born November 17, 1935 in Richfield Springs a son of the late Frank and Esther Mae Eaker Mang. He was raised and educated in Richfield Springs. In high school he was a top wrestler on the Richfield Springs High School wrestling team. On April 3, 1965 he married the former Jean Hunt in the First United Methodist Church in Herkimer a blessed union of 57 years. Robert was the owner and operator of Mang's Auto Body Shop for 30 years later he worked for Skinner & Damulis in their Auto Body Shop. He also worked at the Glimmerglass State Park.

Bob was known as a very busy man and always on the go, in his spare time he enjoyed to go hunting, ice fishing, and snowmobiling. He always made time for his family especially his grandchildren. He was a friend to many and will never be forgotten.

Surviving him are his wife Jean, two sons Robert Mang, Jr. of Richfield Springs, Brian Mang and his wife Wendy of Richfield Springs, a daughter Wendy Brown and her husband Michael of West Winfield, six granddaughters, nine great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends Steven Getchell and April Franklin.

He was preceded in death by three brothers William, Harold and Charles Mang, two sisters Betty VanCourt and Eleanor Dziadik .

A funeral service for Mr. Mang will take place later this spring in Lakeview Cemetery, Richfield Springs.
