Robert W. Martenson

SCHUYLER LAKE - Bob Martenson, 82, was a salesman, software developer, and entrepreneur. He loved the mountains, camping, hiking, sailing, golfing, and going to the opera. He was a man of great faith, active in his local Pentecostal Church. He died peacefully on May 18, 2019.

Bob was born in Passaic, NJ, in 1936 to Leah Parkhurst and Albert Martenson. He grew up in nearby Little Falls, NJ, graduating from Little Falls High School, and was a 1957 graduate of Cornell University. His wife of 40 years was the late Barbara Martenson.

Bob was employed by Mutual of New York life insurance for nearly 20 years. He then founded Associated Computer Products, Inc. He continued working and remained active in his community until his passing.

He is survived by daughter Cathleen Martenson of Eldersburg, MD, son Douglas Martenson (Camille) of Philadelphia, Pa., daughter Penny Santy (Patrick) of Syracuse, NY, son Wayne Martenson (Kristi) of Manhattan, MT, and son Kirk Martenson of Steamboat Springs, Co. He is the grandfather of Phoebe, Sampsun and Ember. He is also survived by sister Caroline Weisburger of West Stockbridge, Mass., and step sisters Barbara Marin of Woodland Park, NJ and Paula Trayer (Ron) of Manchester, PA. His first wife was the late Cynthia Martenson, mother of his first three children.

A memorial service will be held privately by the family.
