EARLVILLE – Ronald L. Hoffman, age 82, of Barnard Road passed away on Wednesday morning, July 29th, 2026 in his home.
Ron was born on August 22, 1943 in Columbus, Ohio a son to the late Lloyd R. and Helen O. Cox Hoffman. He was raised and educated in Canal Winchester, Ohio. He was a graduate of Canal Winchester High School. Ron furthered his education by earning a Bachelors Degree in Agriculture at Ohio State University. It was at OSU he obtained his four year degree in two and a half years, at that time, he also obtained his teaching certificate. In his teaching career he taught Agriculture and headed the FFA Program at Laurelville High School in Ohio from 1963-1965, he then taught at Logan Elm High School in Circleville, Ohio from 1965-1976. Later in his life he became a farmer and then a truck driver. On November 27, 1997 he married the former Cynthia Lea Couchman, a blessed and loving union of twenty-nine years. He was the owner operator of Hoffman Trucking, Inc. in Earlville.
A dedicated farmer for many years, he was a member of Future Farmers of America and the Holstein Association. He enjoyed listening to classic rock and classic country. He loved being with his family and was a huge Ohio State fan “Go Buckeyes”.
He was kind and a gentleman who would help anyone, a friend to many, and he will never be forgotten.
He is survived by his wife Cindy, a son Lance D. Hoffman and his wife Natalie of Chillicothe, Ohio, a daughter Laura D. Cremeans and her husband David of Live Oak, Florida, a step-daughter Steffani H. Shoemaker-Webb of Sherburne, three sisters Marilyn Cook of Los Alamos, New Mexico, Deanna Huber and her husband Lewis of Pickerington, Ohio, Jackie Carte and her husband Kenny of Live Oak, Florida, his son-in-law Timothy Dedrick of Weeki Wachee, Florida, ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, two step grandchildren, six great step grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Ronda Dedrick his namesake.
The family will be present to receive relatives and friendson Thursday August 6th from 10:00 am – 11:00 am in the Richfield Springs Bible Church, Church Street Richfield Springs. His funeral will commence at 11:00 am with Pastor Richard Unger. Burial to follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Richfield Springs.
