Ruth Farrington

ILION-Ruth Marion Farrington , age 93 , formerly of Herkimer passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon October 13, 2021 , in the Abraham House, Rome.

She was born on October 21, 1927 , in Mohawk, daughter of the late Orval and Marion Bartram Harper .  Ruth was raised in Mohawk and was a graduate of Mohawk High School.  On June 14, 1947 , she was united in marriage to George E. Farrington in the Mohawk Reformed Church.  They shared a loving and devoted of sixty-six years until his passing on October 7, 2013. For many years, Mrs. Farrington was employed as a teller with the Marine Midland Bank in Herkimer.  She retired in 1966.  Ruth had a strong faith in God and was a member of the Herkimer Reformed Church.  In 2016 she moved to Ilion to live near to her grandson s David and Daniel Lincourt.  To all who knew her , they found her to be a caring, hopeful and religious lady.  She was happiest when she was with her many friends and family.  She will be sadly missed. ​

She is survived by eight grandchildren including David and Daniel Lincourt of Ilion, several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins.  Besides her parents and husband George, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Donna Hildreth and Linda Lincourt.

A graveside funeral service will take place on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 1:00 pm in Oak Hill Cemetery.  Elder Robert Nasypany of the Herkimer Reformed Church will officiate.  Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Abraham House, 417 North Washington Street; Rome NY 13440.  Funeral arrangements are with Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Court Street; Herkimer.
