RICHFIELD SPRINGS-Sharon Ann Baumgardner , age 76, passed away peacefully on Monday evening December 21, 2021 , in Cooperstown Center Nursing Facility, Cooperstown.  She was born November 5 , 1945 , in Lubbock, TX, daughter of the late John Henry and Maretta Holloway Baumgardner.

She was raised in Plainview, TX and graduated from Plainview High School.  She furthered her education, graduating Texas Tech University and receiving a Masters' Degree in education from the University of Connecticut .  For more than twenty years she taught special education in the Cooperstown School System.  She retired in 2008.

Mrs. Baumgardner had a strong belief in God and was a devout member of Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Monastery Church in Jordanville.  To all who knew her they wil l never forget a most devoted , kind lady who had a special love for children and would go out of her way to help anyone, while looking for nothing in return.

In her leisure time she was a master of all trades.  Sh aron could fix or construct almost anything and was extremely proud of the remodeling she did on her home. She found her relaxation at home was gardening, sewing and being with her family.  She will be sadly missed.

Surviving her are two sons and their wives, Johnathan and Holly Curry, David and Elizabeth Curry all of Melbourne, FL, three daughters and their husbands, Natalie Marzer and The Very Reverend Ilia Marzav of Cleveland, OH, Audrey and Josh Fahey of South Point OH, Martha and Vyacheslav Bugakov of HI, one brother, John Rudolph Baumgardner and his wife Mary of Forrest, VA, a sister, Alice Morris and her husband James of Sherman, TX, seventeen cherished grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousin.  Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Rebecca Orcutt.

Funeral service was for Mrs. Baumgardner was held on Wednesday at 1:00 pm in the Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Monastery Church, Jordanville.  Interment followed in The Holy Trinity Russian Or t hodox Cemetery.  Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to The Holy Trinity Monastery Russian Orthodox Church, 1407 Robinson Road, PO Box 36 Jordanville , NY 13361.
