Stanley J. Greseck

RICHFIELD SPRINGS – Stanley J. Greseck, age 93, of State Highway 28, passed away on Saturday Morning October 17, 2026 in Wynn Hospital, Utica.

Stanley was born September 18, 1933 in Riverhead, Long Island, a son of the late John and Stephanie Poliwoda Greseck. He was raised and educated in Riverhead and a graduate of Riverhead High School. After high school he moved to Richfield Springs working as a potato farmer. He later became a self- employed contractor and then worked as a foreman for Lakewood Construction in Utica. At one time he owned and operated the Citgo Gas Station on the corner of Church and Main Streets in Richfield Springs. On November 30, 1957, he married the former Stephanie Witkowski in Herkimer a blessed and loving union sixty-nine years.

He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church, a member of Herkimer Elks Lodge No. 1439 BPOE. He loved puttering around in his garage and building things. He enjoyed being with his friends and family. He was a friend to many and will never be forgotten.

Besides his wife Stephanie of sixty-nine years, he is survived by his son David Greseck and his wife Debra of Richfield Springs, a daughter Laurie Gravelding of Clinton, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a son-in-law John Gravelding and a sister Suzanne Wienburg.

A graveside service for Mr. Greseck will take place on Thursday October 29th at 11:00am in St. Joseph Cemetery, Richfield Springs.
