ILION – Tonka Edward Warney, age 25, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday July 28, 2018 at Whitney Point where he was working for Gillette Shows.
He was born on September 3, 1992 in Little Falls son of Cheryl Jones Warney and the late Tonka Warney. A lifelong area resident he attended Herkimer High School. He had worked for Caruso Cattle Co., until recently, then for the past three months he traveled with the Gillette Shows. In his leisure time he enjoyed fishing and camping as well as playing football.
Surviving are a daughter, Payton Wilson of Ilion, his mother, Cheryl Warney, of Little Falls, a brother, Kyle Carpenter of Mohawk, five sisters, Kayla Warney of Little Falls, Desiree Carpenter of Gloversville, Adrianna Carpenter of Herkimer, DeAnn Carpenter and Allison Carpenter both of Ilion, his aunt with whom he resided Denise Carpenter of Ilion and his uncle Dennis Carpenter of Arkansas many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his father he was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Edward and Josephine Drabent, his grandmother Joanne Jones and his six month old niece Evelyn Carpenter.
A graveside funeral service will take place on Friday at 11:30 am in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer. Funeral arrangements are with Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., Herkimer.
