RICHFIELD SPRINGS – Veronica "Ronnie" W. McCoy, age 92, of Lakeview Avenue, passed away on Tuesday evening, January 16, 2024 in her home with her family by her side.
She was born on September 9, 1931 in Queens a daughter of the late Richard T. and Grace M. Corkery Barry. She was raised and educated in Queens. On May 23, 1953 she married Francis McCoy in St. James, Long Island, where they resided until moving to Richfield Springs in1983. Ronnie was a dedicated homemaker until she and her husband owned and operated the Stony Brook Motel in Richfield Springs from 1983 until 1991.
She was a devout Catholic and a very active member of the St. Joseph the Worker Church. For many years she was a Deputy Town Clerk for the Town of Richfield. A friend to many and will never be forgotten.
Surviving her are three sons; Thomas T. McCoy of Vestal, John F. McCoy and his wife Susan of Brick, New Jersey, James P. McCoy and his wife Robin of Levittown, two daughters; Theresa A. McCoy of Brick, New Jersey, Jane E. McCoy of Richfield Springs, twenty-five grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, a daughter-in-law Marilyn McCoy, a son-in-law Mark Pfaeffle.
Besides her parents and husband Francis she was preceded in death by a son Richard T. McCoy, two daughters; Patricia A. Allen and Kathleen W. Pfaeffle.
Calling hours for Mrs. McCoy will be on Sunday January 28th from 4:00 until 6:00 pm in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday January 29th at 12 noon in St. Joseph the Worker Church, Canadarago Street, Richfield Springs with the Reverend Rendell Torres, celebrant.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory with donations to St. Joseph the Worker Church or Helios Hospice envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
